There are 5 prerequisites for being successful in your business:

• Passion
• Mission
• Impact
• Belief
• Action

You can make money if you are missing one or two of these prerequisites but you won’t have a major success. These are the key drivers that determine how big a business can become. I will be writing about these 5 prerequisites over the next 5 days.

Passion

We have already talked about passion. It is what you love. It is your desire. It is the thing that will keep you going when you are tired and get you up out of bed in the morning.

And it really doesn’t matter what you are passionate about.

Your passion can be to make a difference, in your life, the life of your family, the lives of others, in your community or in your personal security. Making a difference is a very broad statement.

The definition of making a difference could be:

• Being happier
• Healthier
• Richer
• Smarter
• More compassionate
• More well connected
• Safer

What turns you on? What do you think the world needs more of? That is what you need to discover and build into your mindset for having your business!

Maybe your passion is to have more money.

It could be because you were poor as a kid and never want to be that way again. Or maybe you see the way the economy is going and you don’t want to participate in a recession (at the time of this writing) or a depression (god forbid at the time of this writing).

Maybe you just want to have more money so you can give yourself or your family more of what you feel they deserve. Perhaps you just want to know that your children will be able to have all they need to go to college.

I don’t know what it is for you.

Do you?
But if money and wealth is your passion, then go with it. As you get money and wealth you will get other things along the way too.

Maybe it is independence.

It could be as simple as you feel a little oppressed or repressed in your job. It could be as drastic as feeling like you are under the dictatorial boot heel of the “man”.

Maybe you just want to experience your family as they grow. Spending more time with your lived ones is an awesome motivator for independence. Knowing that you are not missing those first steps of your child, their second grade concert, their first date or just these silly little conversations where they learn so much about life from you.

Creativity may be the driver for your passion.

Do you feel held back? Do you feel as thought your talents are being wasted in your current job. Is there a part of you that is unfulfilled?

Whatever your reason for wanting your own business be sure to fan that spark into a flame that passionately burns and drives you toward success!
